Last Tuesday we had to take Patrick to the after hours walk in clinic because he had this extremely dry cough and was finding it hard to catch his breath, which would get him all worked up and frightened. The doctor suggested we take him to the emergency room at Peterborough Regional Health Care Centre to get some x-rays done as they feared it might be pneumonia. This had Stephanie and myself quite frightened. After about an hour and a half, the doctor concluded that it was just croup and gave him a steroid to open his airway. After a couple days out of daycare, his cough became more loose and phlegmy and his mood improved. It was then we were told that there was a case of croup at daycare. We aren’t bothering to ask whether Patrick brought it to or from daycare.
