Over the past couple of days, I’ve spent a lot of time walking around the house snapping a bunch of photos. I took a lot of shots of the trees, plants, and flowers. I even tried to take some photos of dragonflies, bees, and butterflies, but was unsuccessful. Our house was professionally landscaped many years before we moved in, but looks like it hasn’t been maintained in a long time. Before ripping anything out of the gardens, we’re waiting to see what grows in this year. Anyways, I wanted to state the fact that this is not turning into a gardening or flowering blog. It’s about photography, so lets try and stay on course.
This first shot was taken underneath one of the spruce trees at the rear of the yard. I really liked how the was the sun was filtering through and highlighting certain spots, leaving others in the shade.
This second shot is of some sort of plant. Not sure what it is, but looked pretty gnarly and heavy duty… plus a little like cabbage.
The third shot is of the weirdest coloured plant in the garden. It kind of reminded me of fire and was in big contrast to the surrounding colours.
This last shot is of my nemesis – the dandelion. We have a ridiculous amount of dandelions and weeds on the property. As mentioned above, the yard has not been maintained very well over the years, and this includes the grass. I bought a weed removal tool and after hours of work in a small area of the year, it doesn’t look like I made a difference.
