Last Friday was the first day of our two week summer vacation. We headed out to Bon Echo Provincial Park Sunday morning for 3 days and 2 nights of some of the best camping weather I’ve ever experienced – sunny, mid-20s, no humidity, and no bugs. We’ve been camping with Patrick since he was 8 months old, and it just keeps getting better, (and easier), with each trip – even though this time, we’re in the middle of toilet training him. He was really looking forward to roasting marshmallows on the campfire and was really excited when I let him wield the roasting stick.
We spent most of Monday at the beach. Patrick gets up at around 6:45 in the morning, so after breakfast we headed down to the beach and were the first ones there. We headed back to the campsite around 11:30 for lunch and an early afternoon nap. This morning before packing up and heading home, we jumped in the canoe and paddled around the lake. Patrick has a canoeing attention span of about 25 minutes… then he is ready to jump out.
Below are some photos from the past couple days. Stephanie actually picked up the camera and took a couple shots as well (last one in this set).
This last shot was taken by Stephanie. I like the fact that it captures Patrick running away from the camera – pretty much saying there’s no time for pictures… only time for swimming.
