Since most of my time these days is spent indoors, I thought I’d set up a studio type set up in the basement. I used a white backdrop and daytime CFL bulbs in two clamp lamps shining light from both sides. Although the image looks like it was cut out, it was not. I’ve adjusted the exposure of the camera to lose background in the highlights. I’ve wanted to play around with lighting more, so I’ve taken a series of shots of various items from around the house in front of this background. I call it my product photography studio set up. The only thing I’m struggling with is shooting glass in this setup because of the reflections.
The subject is my new portrait lens which Santa brought me at Christmas. This was the first time its been off the camera since then, and I put it back on immediately after this shot. It should be noted that I love this lens and consider it my third child.
