This morning I headed down to Port Hope with a local photographers Jay Callaghan and Pat Trudeau. The plan was to go to the fish ladder and shoot the salmon jumping, but when we got there, the water was extremely murky, and the fish were nowhere to be found. We headed downtown and along the Ganaraska River to Lake Ontario to take a bunch of shots. This is one of my favorite from the day.
Downtown Port Hope is mostly historic buildings from the mid-1800s. I wanted to do a long exposure to capture the water flowing and one of the buildings in the background. I setup the tripod and loaded on a couple ND filters as the sun was quite bright. I was surprised that I could get a full second exposure with that amount of light.
