Cameras Everywhere!

In my last post, I showed of my favourite camera I acquired a couple weeks back. I thought I’d share photos of the rest of the collection. Saturday morning I set up this little photo shoot in the dining room next to the window. I used a white backdrop and a reflector just to the left to bounce some of the window light back onto the camera. Such an inexpensive setup, but super effective.

As mentioned in my last post, these cameras range from the 1940s up to the mid-1970s. The guy I got them from, was big into photography and had his own darkroom. His career path took a different turn than the one he wanted and was left with a ton of gear. All of this stuff was sitting in boxes in his basement for the past 15 years. He was going to take it all to the dump, but figured he would ask around to see if anyone would want it. I put my hand up and said sure.

Some cameras are in perfect working order, others, need some money invested in them, while others take film that is no longer made let alone developed. I’ve started a neat little corner on our basement bookshelves to display these. Can’t wait to start using them. Hopefully this week!
