Last night our camera club headed over to the Peterborough Lift Locks. The challenge for the evening was to focus on the architecture. These dual lifts are the highest hydraulic boat lifts in the world, about 65ft, which was an accomplishment considering it was built in 1904 when conventional locks had an average rise of about 7ft.
I was surprised how early the sun set. We were out there at 6:30pm and by 8:00pm it was almost completely dark. The end of summer is here I suppose.
