It’s been three years since we last ventured to the Buckhorn Maplefest at McLean Berry Farm. It was a last minute decision and the weather was awesome, plus most of Peterborough was probably at the St. Patrick’s Day parade, so the crowds were lower than normal at the farm. We spent time playing on hay bails, making rope, sawing logs, hiking in the sugar bush and seeing how maple syrup is made.
On the way out the door, I grabbed the Nikon F80 and a roll of Ilford FP4 Plus 125 – one of my all time favourite film stocks. Last year at this time we went to O’Hara Mills Conservation Area and I shot some FP4 and absolutely loved the results, so I thought it would be fun to do the same this year. Below are some of my favourite shots from the day.
