Cleveland 2017

Back at the end of September myself and three friends headed to Cleveland for a ‘boys weekend’. Last year, we went to Detroit to catch a Lions game in mid-November, but this year we tried something a bit different and was able to fit in both an Indians baseball game and Browns football game. We left home at the ridiculous hour of 4am in a successful effort to beat any weekend rush at the border and to get to Cleveland before lunch.

We rolled into town around 10:30 and went straight to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame which was a lot smaller than I thought it would be, but impressive nonetheless. After a couple hours there we went to the house where they filmed A Christmas Story and bought some cheesy souvenirs before heading back to the hotel for a couple drinks before dinner and the second last Indians ball game in the regular season.

The next morning we headed directly to the football stadium as kick-off time was 1pm. We were ill prepared and did not participate in any tailgating activities, but took some mental notes for next time. The Cleveland Browns were playing the Cincinnati Bengals in what I think was one of the worst football games I’ve ever seen. The score was something like 31-7 for Cincinnati, and the stadium pretty much cleared by the end of the 3rd quarter.

After heading out for something to eat after the game, we went back to the hotel for a couple drinks and a jump in the hot tub before going out bowling… because everyone loves bowling. The next morning we went for a short walk before hitting the road. The town and all the people we talked to were extremely nice, and I’d definitely head back there to do more photography or hit up some more sports action. Below are some shots I snapped on my iPhone.
