Lock 24

It’s been over a month since my last post… which might be a new record for me. Just been too caught up with work stuff and a kitchen renovation to be able to go out shooting. Last week our camera club meetup was at Lock 24 along the Trent-Severn Waterway between Peterborough and Lakefield. It’s a spot that I have driven by a hundred times, but have never stopped to explore. This place was a hidden gem for the kind of photos I like to take. The lock connects the main land to an island in the middle of the Otonabee River. The island has some small trails and a couple yurts for overnight stays. At the north end of the island is a large dam which had a bunch of rusty machinery all over it. I had brought along my Pentax 6×7, a roll of Rollei Retro 80s and a roll of Ilford Pan F Plus 50, and went through them quicker than I had expected. I think I’ll have to make another trip here in the near future.
