Reclaimed Drive-In Theatre Site

Itching to get out of the house last week and not wanting to go to the over packed trails and parks in our area, my son and I explored the site of the old Mustang Drive-In Theatre just outside of Peterborough. The drive-in was in operation until 2012 when the cost to switch to digital proved too expensive. The site sat abandoned until a couple years ago, when all the infrastructure was removed. I thought it would be interesting to walk around the site and see if we could find any hints that there used to be a drive-in here.

There’s not really anything left other than some concrete slabs and some electrical wires sticking out of the ground. It’s turned into more of a dumping ground for garbage and retains nothing hinting at its former glory. It was still fun to walk around and talk about what it looked like a couple years back versus its current state. Click here to see photos I took back in 2013 and 2015.

  1. I got excited when I saw Peterborough mentioned, then I realised it wasn’t the real one.
I looked at the earlier pictures and its sad but great that you captured the site before it was levelled.
