Isaiah Tubbs Resort

Our family had originally planned on spending a couple weeks this summer driving out to the east coast, but those plans quickly changed. After spending most of the summer at home in isolation, we booked a small trip to Isaiah Tubbs Resort on West Lake in Prince Edward County. We were joined by close friends of ours who we’ve met up with a couple times before. We were there for a couple nights and spent the days sitting by the beach and just relaxing. It was the middle of the week and while the resort was apparently full, it felt quite empty. I suspect most people used the resort as a jumping off point to go to Sandbanks Provincial Park which was just down the road.

The sandy water in West Lake meant we could walk out from shore quite a distance and still only be waist deep – the kids thought this was awesome. We brought along our kayak and took turns paddling around. The only downfall was that our two rooms were on opposite ends of the resort so we couldn’t really hang out after the kids went to bed. Other than that it was a much needed change of scenery and a super relaxing couple of days.
